Today it is Wednesday 9th June, 2010. In 3 days I set off on a Condor touring bike from Sheffield heading towards Romania with Calin who I know through Sheffield CTC and his friend Raul. They are going the whole distance over 4 weeks, I have two weeks off work.

I will log my progress as I make my way across Holland, Germany and maybe beyond.

Tonight we had a route planning session. We didn't get any routes done but did have a lot of pizza and, via the power of Google Maps, saw almost first hand just how many cycle lanes Holland has - almost every road seems to have a separate, parallel trail just for bikes. How cool is that!

Nothing's packed yet but I think the equipment is ready - camping stuff, clothes, tools - all the crap we'll regret having in the panniers at the start of the very first hill.
